About this market

Basel's biggest and most established regular flea market, held every Saturday beside Peterskirche and the university. Around 300 sellers spread across the square with a genuine range from quality antiques and vintage décor at one end to children's clothes and cheap household goods at the other. The crowd is correspondingly broad — collectors, students, tourists, regulars and resellers — and the haggling culture is real. One of the city's classic Saturday rituals, running in all weathers except public holidays and Herbstmesse week.
