Flea markets in Winterthur

Winterthur is Zürich's overlooked neighbour, a city of 100,000 that earns its reputation as a serious cultural destination in its own right. Its Floh- und Trödlermarkt runs through the Altstadt on selected Saturdays from March to October, winding through the pedestrianised old town in a way that makes browsing feel like exploring the city at the same time. The market has a local, unpretentious character — Winterthur doesn't draw the tourist volumes of Zürich or Luzern, so the vendors are largely selling to fellow residents rather than visitors. Easily reached from Zürich in 20 minutes by train.
