Barfüsserplatz, 4001 Basel

Twice a month, the magnificent Barfüsserplatz — one of Basel's most iconic medieval squares — transforms into a flea market with the Barfüsserkirche as its backdrop. The Wednesday timing (2nd and 4th of each month) gives it a distinctly local feel, with regular dealers offering antiques, vintage goods, books, jewellery and collectibles. With unusually long hours running until 7pm, it suits both morning browsers and after-work visitors.
