Marché aux puces de Plainpalais (Erster Sonntag)

A Geneva institution since 1970 and one of the largest flea markets in Switzerland, the Marché aux Puces de Plainpalais fills the vast Plaine de Plainpalais with up to 300 vendors every Wednesday, Saturday and the first Sunday of the month. The market divides naturally into zones: bric-a-brac and household finds on the tram side, vintage clothing and antique furniture toward the university. The square is famously referenced in Mary Shelley's Frankenstein — a monument to the creature stands among the stalls.
